The staff aboard Crystal Cruises is often at sea between three and five months at a stretch. How do they avoid that cabin fever? The Cruise Director, Herbert Doppler, shared in a recent Cruise Industry Quarterly article, they actually don’t have to – staff members love their job and being onboard.

Crystal Cruises, a six-star luxury line, recruits quality staffers that enjoy interacting and helping each passenger. To keep them all straight, the ship uses a computer data system so whenever a guest comes aboard they can expect their favorite food and drink (and at their desired time) without even having to lift a finger! If only everyone in your life was so attentive. Alas, sail an upcoming Crystal Cruise to witness for yourself the true meaning of above-and-beyond.
