According to the Global Wellness Institute, the global wellness market has doubled since 2013, and grew 7.9% from 2023 to 2024, reaching a new peak of $6.8 trillion. Travelers continue to seek out wellness-focused journeys, and many view these getaways as investments in a healthier future.

According to the 2026 Virtuoso Luxe Report, health and wellness now ranks as the second-most requested experience for solo travelers who are drawn to programs that foster structure and self-discovery. Mental health and longevity are just as — if not more — important as physical fitness and pampering spa treatments.

Here are acclaimed wellness destinations spanning the globe, including new openings and innovative programs and packages designed with an emphasis on meaningful investing in a healthy future.

Pampering at New Heights in Panama

At Nayara Bocas del Toro, situated on a private island off Panama’s Caribbean Coast, the loftiest newcomer is recently launched Colibrí Spa Treehouse. Like the resort’s four 50-foot, solar-powered treehouse accommodations, the spa has also been designed by Elora Hardy (of Bali-based design studio IBUKU) and constructed out of locally sourced bamboo and timber reclaimed from underwater (which results in dense, durable material with beautiful grain and unique mineral staining). In early 2026, the Treehouse Spa (named after the hummingbirds that thrive in the region) will be connected by a trio of Pavilions, also reserved for wellness treatments—a veritable wellness destination that immerses guests in a tropical forest while also reinforcing Nayara’s commitment to environmental conservation. The spa menu is inspired by ingenious traditions. The signature “Tribute to Sacred Cacao” treatment celebrates one of Panama’s ancestral treasures with a combination of exfoliation, massage, and a cacao-based wrap.

A Medi-Spa Debut in Morocco

Royal Mansour Tamuda Bay unveiled Morocco’s first-ever Medi- Spa, clocking in at more than 46,000 square feet. Blending cutting-edge medical treatments and ancient healing traditions, multi-day, personalized wellness journeys are also available with a focus on longevity and grouped around five pillars: metabolic balance, physical fitness, nutrition, sleep, and emotional well-being. Created under the expert guidance of a renowned integrative medicine specialist, each program begins with a thorough assessment. Guests leave with a customized three-month plan to continue their progress back home. Plus: Menus follow the Mediterranean Blue Zone diet, with an emphasis on bio-active dishes.

Suite Health in London

Set in the heart of the fashionable Marylebone village and part of The Doyle Collection, The Marylebone has splurge-worthy suites and a robust fitness and wellness program, including a 60-foot swimming pool (rare in central London). Thanks to an outpost of Third Space (an exclusive members-only health club), guests have access to state-of-the-art facilities, featuring expert trainers, complimentary fitness classes, saunas, and a steam room. Plus: A newly launched “Suite Health” package in partnership with Rebase, a London-based performance recovery studio, blends high-performance training, cold therapy, and restorative massage — all within the privacy of one’s own suite.

Longevity by the Lake in Switzerland

For over 20 years, La Réserve Genève has been at the forefront of longevity wellness. The Spa Nescens program was developed by Professor Jacques Proust, a pioneer in anti-aging medicine. Guests who participate in the signature Better-Aging Programs receive a thorough medical evaluation and with the help of a team of professionals, gain a better understanding of their genetic, medical, dietary, and psychological profile. The spa also offers pulse therapy, which uses pulsed electromagnetic waves delivered through high-tech boots to boost the cardiovascular system, shape the silhouette, and aid in post-training recovery. Plus: The new Women’s Better Aging Journey is designed to promote cellular and metabolic regeneration. The 4- and 6-day programs include blood tests, medical consultations, targeted treatments, fitness coaching, and nutritious meals.

Mystras, Peloponnese: Set in a UNESCO heritage landscape that’s been a place of healing for millennia, Euphoria Retreat is a holistic wellbeing destination that blends cutting-edge science with ancient Greek wisdom. Its acclaimed “Transformational Leadership Retreats” showcase how founder Marina Efraimoglou has pioneered a new approach for women leaders, creating a four-day program that leans into yin (female) energies like intuition, empathy, care, nurturing, and support.
