July is the heart of summer and a perfect time to get away. This month is packed with reasons to travel far from home—whether you’re exploring new openings in Kenya or attending festivals in Casablanca—and you won’t want to miss these five destinations.

Jazzy in Casablanca, Morocco

July is a perfect time to experience Casablanca. The weather is ideal for exploring the city’s rich architectural heritage—from the grand Hassan II Mosque to Art Deco gems scattered throughout. The first two weekends of the month bring Jazzablanca, a vibrant music festival that showcases international and local jazz, soul and fusion artists in the heart of Casablanca. This year’s lineup includes performances by the Black Eyed Peas, Macklemore and more. During the festivities, Royal Mansour Casablanca will feature live jazz in the bar and themed decor in the lobby.

Casablanca has long been considered a business destination; however, the opening of Royal Mansour Casablanca—housed in the area’s first luxury hotel which was faithfully rebuilt over eight years— ushers in a new era for travelers seeking to explore the city’s history and lifestyle. Ideally located near the Old Medina and Art Deco district, the 149-room hotel offers the city’s largest suites (some spanning up to 12,800 square feet), private butler service, a two-story spa, five restaurants and bars, and curated insider experiences such as street art tours and scenic flights above the city.

andBeyond Suyian Lodge, in Suyian Conservancy, Kenya

Conservation Debut in Kenya, Africa

Kenya’s Laikipia-Ewaso ecosystem is one of the country’s most wildlife-rich regions, home to several globally threatened species—including Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, cheetahs, lions and nearly half of Kenya’s black rhino population. July is an especially rewarding time to visit: the dry season brings clear skies, sparse vegetation, and increased chances of spotting wildlife around waterholes.

In July 2025, andBeyond will expand its lodge circuit in Kenya with an exclusive tourism concession over the 44,000-acre Suyian Conservancy in northwestern Laikipia. As the sole luxury lodge and tented camp operator on the conservancy, the lease will allow andBeyond to use its extensive lodge operating experience to build and develop the finest lodge, tented camp, sky beds, and mobile camping experience in Kenya, while supporting critical conservation efforts. With its remarkable wildlife (55 mammals and more than 260 bird species) and varying landscapes—grassland, savanna, rocky outcrops, dense vachellia woodland, and the Ewaso Narok River— Suyian is the ideal destination not only for an exclusive safari experience but also a broader set of activities ranging from walking and camel safaris to horse-riding safaris, botany walks, and discovering the area’s Stone Age-era cave paintings and artifacts. Guests will also be able to interact with local pastoral tribes such as the Samburu and Pokot, as well as participate in conservation and research activities.

Sporty in Geneva, Switzerland

In July, Geneva takes center stage as host of the UEFA Women’s European Championship—the continent’s most prestigious women’s football tournament. Hosted once every four years, matches will be held at the Stade de Genève throughout the month, including group stage games and a quarter-final, finishing with a semi-final on July 22.

Just three miles from the city center, La Réserve Genève offers a tranquil lakeside escape within easy reach of the action. Set in a 10-acre park on the lake’s right bank with views of the Jura Mountains, the property offers the best of both worlds with easy access to the city center and nearby public transportation to get to the matches (ticket holders benefit from free transportation on game days), combined with lake views and a 20,000 square-foot-spa for a post-game winddown. The wellness space features indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center and a range of rejuvenating treatments. For those planning an extended stay to catch every match, La Villa du Lac offers 4,000 square feet of private living space, complete with three bedrooms, a chef’s kitchen, a garden terrace, and its own dock.

Stargazing in Atacama, Chile

Boasting more than 200 cloudless nights a year and some of the darkest skies on Earth, Chile’s Atacama Desert is a dream destination for stargazers. In July—the southern hemisphere’s winter—the conditions are especially optimal, with cold, dry air and a crystal-clear view of the Milky Way at its most brilliant.

Dive into the astro-tourism trend with a stay at Nayara Alto Atacama, an adobe-style sanctuary in the world’s driest desert that blends seamlessly with its red-rock surroundings in Chile’s Salt Mountains. Designed by Chilean interior designer Enrique Concha, the suites feature handcrafted décor, desert-inspired palettes and spacious terraces that open to the stars. The Puri Spa offers saunas, outdoor mineral baths overlooking the valley, and treatments using local ingredients.

For a low-key sky experience, guests can relax on their large private terraces, taking in the clearest vantage point of our galaxy and beyond. Or, for more hands-on stargazing, they can visit the hotel’s open-air observatory—the only one in the region—where astronomy guide Pía Urbano Mena explains what makes the Atacama the world’s top stargazing destination (hint: low humidity, high altitude, and non-existent light pollution) while identifying constellations and explaining the significance of the cosmos to the local Indigenous people.

Wellness in Mystras, Greece

While Greece is known for its lively summer scene, July in Mystras offers a quieter, more restorative experience. Nestled in the foothills of Mount Taygetos in the Peloponnese, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is a hidden gem of serene ruins, Byzantine churches, and winding stone paths. Nature lovers can hike the trails of nearby Mount Taygetos or unwind in the region’s natural springs. Whether you’re drawn to slow-paced historical exploration or the simple joys of Greek hospitality, Mystras in July is a hidden European sanctuary for those looking to unwind and reconnect.

For the ultimate retreat, The Euphoria Longevity Festival, taking place from July 3–13, allows guests of Euphoria Retreat to explore a more holistic approach to well-being—one that extends beyond physical health to embrace mindfulness, movement, social connection, and a deep sense of fulfillment. By cultivating a harmonious balance of body, mind, and spirit while fostering meaningful connections, the festival creates a space for true longevity. Renowned practitioners and visionary experts utilize ancient and modern longevity practices, drawing from Chinese, Greek, and contemporary scientific perspectives to introduce daily rituals that nurture well-being. Guests can discover everything from mindful movement and nourishing cuisine to breathwork, meditation, and biohacking.

Throughout the festival, guests can engage in immersive workshops on holistic healing and human potential, expert-led talks on the science of longevity and sustainable living, and transformative wellness experiences, including sound and energy healing. Additional activities include yoga, qigong, Pilates, dance therapy, morning trekking, and breathwork.
