We’re setting our sights on travel in 2025 and beyond. On the horizon: buzzy new openings and splashy renovations from some of the biggest names in the biz — from a groundbreaking andBeyond lodge in Kenya’s 44,000-acre Suyian Conservancy and a hotly-anticipated London hotel from the hospitality legends behind brands including Corbin and King and Firmdale Hotels.

Here’s what not to miss:

GREECE: Kalesma Mykonos – Expansion | April 2025

Kalesma Mykonos, which opened in 2021 showcasing a gloriously laid-back side to a place known primarily for summer parties, is expanding its footprint for 2025 with 19 new rooms, a new pool, and a traditional all-day Greek taverna. Architecturally striking and minimalist cool, the property will nearly double in size, offering guests more options for dining and lounging throughout the day, all with the view of Ornos Bay sparkling below. A new taverna will offer a cozy and traditional experience with classic Greek mezedes such as dolmades, saganaki, and dakos salad. With the addition of the new sea view deluxe rooms and junior suites, Kalesma will have 44 rooms and two villas, offering more variety for guests while maintaining its intimate atmosphere. Rates start at 700 per night based on double occupancy.

UNITED KINGDOM: The Newman – Opening | Summer 2025

Set on Newman Street in Fitzrovia in central London, The Newman will be the first hotel from the new international hospitality management company, Kinsfolk & Co. Founded by a team of like-minded hoteliers and restaurateurs whose joint expertise spans the most respected names in the hospitality scene, the property is being designed by London-based studio Lind + Almond, known for creating spaces with an understated yet worldly eclecticism. It will feature 81 Art Deco-inspired guest rooms, suites, and apartments—some with private balconies— and a rooftop level that can be booked as a private four-bedroom space and comprises a signature suite with a terrace. Every corner of the hotel will reflect Fitzrovia’s distinctive character, with subtle nods to the area’s icons such as bohemian queen Nancy Cunard. The hotel’s modern European brasserie will be bathed in natural light and include a separate street entrance, along with an outdoor terrace and a menu prioritizing seasonal great British ingredients, while the lower-level cocktail bar will feature small plates, handcrafted cocktails, and a selection of craft beers. The spa at The Newman will embrace Nordic simplicity, blending minimalism with innovation and functionality, and will include a range of hot and cold experience cabins, an active salt therapy room, and a hydrotherapy pool.

KENYA: Laikipia X andBeyond Suyian Lodge – Opening | July 2025

Kenya’s Laikipia-Ewaso ecosystem is home to one of Kenya’s densest concentrations of wildlife, including numerous globally threatened mammals including almost half of Kenya’s black rhino population — making it a new frontier for tourism-led conservation. In July 2025, andBeyond will expand its lodge circuit in Kenya with an exclusive tourism concession over the 44,000-acre Suyian Conservancy in northwestern Kaikipia. As the sole luxury lodge and tented camp operator on the conservancy, the lease will allow andBeyond to use its extensive lodge operating experience to build and develop the finest lodge, tented camp, sky beds, and mobile camping experience in Kenya, while supporting critical conservation efforts. With its remarkable wildlife (55 mammals and more than 260 bird species) and varying landscapes—grassland, savanna, rocky outcrops, dense vachellia woodland, and the Ewaso Narok River—Suyian is the ideal destination not only for an exclusive safari experience but also a broader set of activities ranging from walking and camel safaris to horse-riding safaris, botany walks, discovering the area’s Stone Age-era cave paintings and artifacts, and interacting with residents of the Samburu and Pokot tribes. Rates starting at $1,500 per person per night.

UNITED STATES: White Elephant Aspen – Opening | Late Fall 2025

White Elephant Resorts is bringing its inimitable mix of service, style, and hospitality to America’s favorite outdoor playground. Departing from the town’s prevailing Victorian-inspired and log cabin-like architecture, White Elephant Resorts and Boston-based architectural firm EMBARC will inject a dose of modernity into the mountain town with the 54-room White Elephant Aspen – set to debut in late Fall 2025. Opening in the vibrant West End neighborhood, the hotel will offer the flexibility to connect rooms into multi-bedroom suites. Families and large parties will have plenty of space to spread out in the 730-square-foot two-bedroom suite or the 1,660-square-foot Penthouse Suite, which boasts three bedrooms, three-and-a-half bathrooms, and a 1,600-square-foot private balcony with sweeping mountain views.  White Elephant Aspen will have a carefully curated art collection layered throughout the design with original works inspired by the local environment and scenery. White Elephant has extended their long-standing partnership with BMW, offering complimentary courtesy cars around town and in winter, a shuttle to and from the ski slopes to make easy work of a day on the hill.

AFRICA: Aqua Expeditions Launching Sixth Vessel | December 2025

Known for its luxury voyages across the world’s most remote destinations, Aqua Expeditions is set to expand its fleet in 2025 with a sixth vessel that will sail to Seychelles and Zanzibar, Tanzania. Inaugural departures are slated for December 2025, with four different itineraries ranging from five- to 14-nights. Guests can expect a super-yacht experience on par with standards now expected on an Aqua ship, with an exclusive 1:1 crew-to-guest ratio, personalized service, acclaimed cuisine helmed by world-renowned chefs, and small group expert-guided excursions that show off the best of each destination. While sailing Seychelles and Tanzania with Aqua, guests will have the opportunity to visit biodiversity hotspots like Aldabra, Cosmoledo, Astove, Furquhar Atol, Kilwa Kisiwani, and Pemba. In usual Aqua fashion, the expedition will also visit destinations such as the African Banks, which are rarely explored by other sailings in the region. Since 2007 – when the brand started with a single ship in the Peruvian Amazon – Aqua has grown to sail eight destinations with three river ships and two superyachts.
