Belmond Orcaella

Celebrating Myanmar as a land of mystery and spiritual, untouched locales, Belmond launched Belmond Orcaella in 2013 to offer visitors even more opportunities to experience sights and culture.  The sister ship to Belmond Road to Mandalay embarks on both an Ayeyarwady River schedule and a Chindwin River schedule, exploring popular cultural sites along the way.

The craft’s small size (200 feet) allows it to sail along untouched waters and through remote destinations. Each of the 25 spacious river-facing cabins, 17 of which are suites, feature floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors, and ensuite bathrooms.  There is also a lounge area, bar and swimming pool.

Belmond Road To Mandalay

Belmond Road to Mandalay offers a variety of itineraries as it cruises the beautiful Ayeyarwady River for three, four, or seven nights, between the pagoda city of Bagan with its stunning ancient temples and royal Mandalay. There is also an additional option of nights in Ngapali, Inle Lake, and historic Yangon with its dazzling, gilded Shwedagon Pagoda. There are also cruises farther afield through picturesque villages and gorges to Bhamo, near the Chinese border in the North.

Belmond Road to Mandalay will celebrate its 20th anniversary in Myanmar with a special journey on October 1-5, 2016. The four-night sailing will follow the route of the ship’s inaugural trip from Bagan to Mandalay, and as a special thanks to the communities along the river, five percent of the ticket price for this anniversary cruise will be donated to the Belmond Myanmar Foundation in support of a new hospital facility in Bagan.
