xenodocheio Milos

With xenodocheio Milos, celebrated Greek chef Costas Spiliadis of the estiatorio Milos empire is returning to his roots—while marking a new chapter in the evolution of the Milos brand. Brought to life over a period of three years, the 42-room luxury hotel debuted in downtown Athens, inside two heritage-listed neoclassical buildings, in 2022.

For chef Costas, who grew up in Patras, a port city near the ancient Greek village of Olympia, xenodocheio Milos is the ultimate gesture of philoxenia, the sacred art of making a stranger feel like home. His guiding ethos has always been simple yet sophisticated and flavorful Greek cuisine that spotlights seafood and showcases the highest-quality products and local ingredients—from juicy tomatoes and artisanal honey to tangy yogurt and herbaceous green olive oil from Costas’s sister’s farm.

Located in the heart of Greece’s vibrant capital, xenodocheio Milos is situated near Pláka, the old historical neighborhood, and the trendy Kolonaki district. The area brings together the best of old and new Athens: world-renowned museums, historical landmarks, luxury shops, and some of the city’s trendiest restaurants and cafes. Guests are a short seven-minute walk from Syntagma Square, where the Athenians rose up against King Otto of Greece in 1843 to demand a constitution, and just 20 minutes from the Parthenon that is dedicated to Greek goddess Athena and the Acropolis Museum with more than 4,250 objects on exhibition.

Greek-made furnishings, pendant lighting, Dionysos marble bathrooms and wooden floors lend an air of Cycladic minimalism, while clean lines and sculptural touches make the accommodations feel extra airy and bright. Headboards and bathroom counters feature a curved design, evoking wind moving through inflated sails. Suites on the fourth and fifth floors have expansive terraces that look out to the historic Old Parliament House and Lycabettus Hill.
