Aqua Expeditions

Global • Vietnam & Cambodia, Peru, Galapagos Islands, Indonesia

With its commitment to guiding travelers to unexplored experiences, Aqua Expeditions is a global leader in luxury small-ship expeditions that explore the world’s most biodiverse and culturally significant destinations on board deeply stylish vessels.  Aqua operates river explorations on the Amazon (Peru), the Mekong (Cambodia and Vietnam), and coastal yacht voyages in Indonesia and the Galapagos, the latter a destination near and dear to founder and CEO Francesco Galli Zugaro (it’s where he began his career in travel and the idea for Aqua Expeditions was born).

The diverse itineraries, ranging from three to fourteen nights and they are tailored and exclusive, with 1:1 crew-to-guest ratio, award-winning cuisine and expert-guided activities. Days are structured much like those of land-based safaris with small group outings led by naturalists that were born and raised in the local region. At the heart of every Aqua expedition is its commitment to the people, wildlife and environment – educating guests to preserve the magic of these regions. Notable achievements include the rehabilitation of the paiche fish population, the release of 2,100 taricaya turtles in the Peruvian Amazon, and supporting the Amazon Rescue Centre with the release of 25 manatees. The brand deepened its sustainability practices in 2024 by partnering with 4Ocean – a company dedicated to ending the ocean plastic crisis – and pledging to remove a minimum of 25,000 pounds of plastic from the world’s waterways over 2025.

By the Numbers
