Come autumn, when the Scottish Highlands trade summer’s green for a palette of burnished coppers and gold, The Fife Arms invites guests to embrace the season with “Falling for the Highlands,” a three-night package designed to showcase the shifting magic of Cairngorms National Park at the height of its autumnal beauty.

Timed to coincide with the grand finale of one of the region’s most cherished traditions—the annual Braemar Highland Games, which draws kilt-clad competitors and spectators from around the world—the package leans into the pleasures of the season, from wild swimming and whisky tastings to cozying up by the fire inside the hotel, a former Victorian coaching inn home to 46 individually designed rooms and suites and more than 16,000 works of art and antiques.

While all guests have their pick of thrilling outdoor excursions—from hiking and fly fishing to clay-pigeon shooting—those who book the “Falling for the Highlands” package unlock a raft of exclusive adventures, such as a new two-hour guided twilight swim in the River Dee, followed by warm drinks and plush thermal robes.

Also included is a new Sensory Highlands Walk in which guests are invited to slow down and tune into the rhythms of the Highland landscape on a guided walk through the surrounding hills and mist-laced glens, punctuated by poetry readings in the woods from one of the hotel’s Ghillie guides.

Back at the hotel, guests can choose between an afternoon tea or a guided whisky tasting at Bertie’s Bar, which houses a collection of more than 365 whiskies from across Scotland and beyond. Additional indulgences include a three-course dinner at The Clunie Dining Room, a 55-minute wellness treatment, daily breakfast, and the ultimate seasonal in-room amenity: a pair of cashmere bed socks by British knitwear designer Rosie Sugden—perfect for curling up with a book beside the fire.

Rates for the “Falling for the Highlands” package start at £3,855 based on double occupancy.
